How did you become an author and get published? Share your experience.
I have been passionate about writing for as long as I can remember, spanning over six decades. It began during my teenage years when I started keeping a journal, and later on, I honed my skills by taking creative writing classes. I am proud to say that I am a self-published author. I attribute my success to my determination and persistence in marketing myself and my books, never giving up easily.
When you're working on a book and a new idea pops up, should you pursue it immediately (also known as 'UP syndrome') or finish your current project first? What do you think is the best course of action?
I prefer to focus on writing a single book at a time and adopt a more conventional approach to the writing process. Rather than jumping between chapters, I create a detailed story outline and work on my novel sequentially from beginning to end.
What are some books or authors that you would recommend to our readers?
I would encourage readers to read my books! I'm proud to say that I've written two works of fiction. The first is a paranormal romance novel about vampires titled "The Darkest Gift," and the second is a murder mystery featuring supernatural occurrences called "Requiem for Miriam." My third book is a non-fiction novel based on my experience as a hairstylist and salon owner in Northern California. I'm honored to have received awards for all of my books. I'm working on my fourth book, "Transplanted Evil," a supernatural thriller that I hope to release by August 2023.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When I write, I usually have a snack which I adore. My go-to options are yogurt or pistachio nuts.
To date, what is your favorite (or most difficult) chapter you have ever written?
I'm almost done writing my fourth book, "Transplanted Evil," which deals with intense themes like a teenage suicide attempt, befriending a serial killer, demonic worship, paranormal activity, and exorcism. It's been a challenging and complex work of art, but I'm nearing the finish line.
